Dolby Atmos, DTS: X and Auro-3D

The Dolby Atmos and DTS: X surround sound technologies provide the channel-oriented coding in favor of object-oriented coding, in which all sound from the sound engineer can be arranged precisely at any position in the room. To provide the ultimate home theater experience, the SR7011 can be connected to a 5.1 surround sound speaker system, as well as 4 additional treble speakers or, optionally, 4 additional, up-facing Dolby Atmos speakers. Thanks to the processing of 11 channels, you can simply connect an external 2-channel amplifier and enjoy Dolby Atmos or DTS: X in an impressive 7.1.4 configuration. Dolby Surround Upmixer and DTS Neural: X Upmixers are also available to simulate 3D sound in standard formats.

Auro-3D Upgrade possible: With Auro-3D the listeners immerse themselves into a regular sound cocoon, which gives them the feeling of being at the center of the action. Auro-3D offers an immersive surround sound experience thanks to special high and overhead channels, which are used in addition to the normal channels. The altitude information captured during recording or during mixing flow into a 5.1 standard PCM stream available via conventional Blu-ray. In addition, monaural, stereo, 5.1 surround and Auro encoded signals are detected and converted by the 3D audio engine. After upgrading with the Auro codec decoder, the SR7011 is able to decode the original Auro 3D mix and play back an Auro 3D 10.1 channel configuration (with an external amplifier). The Auro 3D upgrade will be available in early 2017. Information about the exact date and price will be published.

 

High-quality audio components, Marantz HDAM

The SR7011 is equipped with especially high-quality and carefully selected audio components. The audio quality is further improved by the internal circuit, because all signals are processed with the self-developed HDAMs developed by Marantz before they reach the loudspeakers. Marantz's exclusive HDAM technology (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) is used in our components of the reference series.Compared to conventional operational amplifier ICs, it offers optimized low-noise broadband performance in a completely discrete configuration. In addition, the technology is characterized by an extremely high slew rate for a real broadband frequency response and a maximum dynamic range so that modern high-resolution audio formats are reproduced with optimum sound quality.

The video processing component can also transcode as well as convert analog and digital SD and HD video contents to 4K Ultra HD upwards, thus bringing new life to the films from your archive. The SR7011 has 8 HDMI inputs. One of them is conveniently located on the front of the device. In addition, there are 3 HDMI outputs: two for the main zone and one for a second zone.

Powerful discreet 9-channel amplifier with Eco mode

The SR7011 has a mature power amplifier with all 9 channels configured identically. Discrete high-current power transistors are used. All channels have a nominal power of 200 W each, and loudspeakers with a low impedance of up to 4 Ohm can be controlled without risk. Our intelligent Eco mode automatically adjusts the output power to the volume level. An eco-parameter display on the display allows you to track the energy savings in real-time.

 

Smart TV connectivity

Using the HDMI CEC function of your Smart TV (Consumer Electronics Control), you can control the Marantz AVR with the Smart TV remote control. Select "ON" in the receiver for "HDMI Control", and "ON" for "Smart Menu". The start screen of the Smart Menu provides quick access to the selection of sources and surround modes, the AVR setup menu, and 4 SmartSelect features.

 

Audyssey Platinum suite for space correction

The SR7011 is equipped with the full Audyssey Platinum suite of powerful DSP algorithms. This includes the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room acoustics correction. With the supplied microphone, the MultEQ XT32 analyzes the playback characteristics of the individual loudspeakers (including the subwoofers) at up to 8 measuring points and creates precise digital filters, which are used to determine the appropriate frequency and time settings for the individual channels.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume corrects annoying volume jumps that occur, for example, in advertising blocks on television. Even at low volumes, you can clearly hear dialogues, music, and sounds. Audyssey Dynamic EQ ensures precise sound balance and clarity at all volume levels.

With Audyssey Low Frequency Containment, powerful psychoacoustic algorithms are used to ensure a balanced sound throughout the frequency range, even with the deep bass. At the same time, it is ensured that neighboring neighbors and family members in neighboring rooms are not disturbed. You can use a multi-stage setup process to customize the container level you want.

Audyssey Sub EQ HT allows for individual DSP tuning of the individual subwoofers in configurations with two subwoofers. Compared to configurations with a single subwoofer, it is possible to achieve deeper and clearer defined basses.

 

Marantz 2016 AVR Remote

With the newly developed Marantz 2016 AVR remote app for smartphones and tablets with iOS and Android, we provide extensive control options for the use of the latest generation of Marantz's network-capable AV receivers. Not only have many features been added, but the graphical design and the user interface have also been completely reworked. Control the basic functions of your Marantz product such as switching on / off, volume control, inputs and settings.

 

Two subwoofer outputs

If only one subwoofer is available, optimum placement in the room is not always possible for best bass reproduction. Depending on the installation location, the bass reproduction at the main listening position may have distinct peaks and depressions. If 2 subwoofers are placed in different places, this results in smoothing the low frequencies and thus a more precise bass in the listening area.

 

Functions for multiple sources and multiple rooms

Enjoy your favorite movie in the living room while other residents in two other rooms hear stereo sound from other sources. The SR7011 is equipped with speaker connections and preamp outputs for a 2nd and 3rd zone. There is also a dedicated HDMI output for the audio and video signal of the second zone. So you can play and enjoy 2 different video sources simultaneously in 2 different rooms. In Zones 2 and 3, any network sources, as well as content streaming via Bluetooth and AirPlay can be played back.

 

Color-coded 4-way speaker connections

The high-quality loudspeaker connections are versatile and support different connection variants, including banana plugs. The connections are color-coded in order to ensure correct connection of the loudspeakers from the start. Matching color-coded speaker cables are included.

Possibilities for external control

The SR7011 is equipped with a number of features that provide improved control and compatibility with third-party integration solutions.

To provide compatibility with the remote controls of other components of your home cinema system, the SR7011 has an infrared front panel and an infrared output on the rear panel. There are also two 12V switching outputs.

The SR7011 can also be configured and controlled via the IP control with any computer in the home network - either via a wired network connection (LAN) or via WLAN. The SR7011 has a serial RS-232C connector for direct connection to external automation technology.

The SR7011 has the Crestron Connected certification for quick and easy integration with Crestron's home automation technology.
