Since it runs on plug-in power and features no controls to configure, the Mic-M1 provides simple plug-and-play operation with no batteries or phantom power required. Two detachable 3.5mm cables are included—one TRS cable for use with cameras and one TRRS cable for connection to a smartphone or tablet.

The electret condenser capsule's cardioid polar pattern rejects sound behind the microphone to yield a stronger focus on sources in front of the mic. The supplied shockmount attaches to the shoe mount of your camera and mitigates the transfer of vibration and camera handling noise.
